Getting Around

Singapore is well-connected through a system of public trains (MRT) and buses, while the NUS campus itself is serviced by a network of free shuttle buses. You can access both MRT and bus services using an EZ-link card that is available at all Passenger Service Stations at most MRT stations and 7-Eleven stores. Find out more about our public transport system here.

Getting here from the airport by public transport:

MRT and Bus

From Kent Ridge MRT Station – NUS Internal Bus Shuttle
Take the MRT from the airport to Kent Ridge MRT Station (requires a change at Tanah Merah MRT Station, then Buona Vista MRT Station). Walk to Kent Ridge Bus Stop, Bus Stop No. 18331, from Kent Ridge MRT Station (Exit A). Board NUS Internal Bus Shuttle D2. Alight 5 stops later at UTown.

From Clementi MRT Station – Bus 96
Take the MRT from the airport to Clementi MRT Station (requires a change at Tanah Merah MRT Station). Board Bus 96 at Clementi Bus Interchange, and alight 3 stops later at Bus Stop No. 17099 (after Dover Road). Walk approximately 8 to 10 minutes to UTown.

Taxi / Car

A taxi ride from the airport to University Town will cost approximately S$30 and take about 30 to 45 minutes. All taxis in Singapore use a meter, and are easily found at the many taxi stands at the airport. Alternatively, you can download transportation apps like Uber or Grab that typically offer cheaper rates than the taxi companies.
