The hosting institution, the National University of Singapore (NUS) is a world-class institute that is ranked 24th in the Times Higher Education 2016-2017 rankings, and 12th in the QS World University Rankings. In particular, it is ranked 10th in the world (QS) for Environmental Sciences and has a long history of supporting marine research, having established a dedicated marine research facility, the Tropical Marine Science Institute, in 1996.One of its newest extensions is University Town (UTown), a self-contained educational hub located on the Kent Ridge campus of NUS with a full range of conference facilities, residences and food outlets. The proposed conference venue is the Town Plaza at UTown, which has an auditorium that seats 448 and an air-conditioned foyer for networking and hot-desking. The Workshop following the Conference will be held in UTown’s Education Resource Centre, which has 13 workshop rooms (capacity ranging from 25 to 65 pax) that are well-equipped for presentations, discussions and video conferencing (click link here for full details and photos). Participants will be given access to the university WIFI network for the duration of the conference and workshop.
